Can I get to Vieh Heli by public transportation?
Yes, Vieh Heli is easy to reach by bus and train. Bus line 542 (Bad Ischl to Gosausee) stops at "Au bei Bad Goisern", right in front of the house. By train, Steeg-Gosau stop or Bad Goisern station is about 500 meters (0.3 miles) away. From there, buses run regularly to Hallstatt, Bad Ischl and Gosau.
Is there an e-bike and EV charging station?
Yes, we have both. A Bosch e-bike charger is right by the beer garden, and e-bike rentals are available through Goisern Bikeworld. Two 11 kW EV charging points in the parking lot are available 24/7.
What is there to see nearby?

What can I do on a rainy day?
The Hallstatt Salt Mine is open year-round and perfect for rainy days. The thermal spa in Bad Ischl is relaxing in any weather, and a stop at Café Zauner in Bad Ischl is a must. On Krippenstein, the Giant Ice Cave and the Mammoth Cave are waiting for you, and in Obertraun the Koppenbrüller Cave. The climbing gyms in Obertraun and Bad Ischl and the Hand.Werk.Haus craft center in Bad Goisern round out your rainy-day options. Hallstatt is about 4 miles (7 km) away, around 12 minutes by car. Bad Ischl is about 7.5 miles (12 km) and Gosau about 9 miles (15 km) away.
Are there hiking trails right from the house?
The East Shore Trail along Lake Hallstatt starts right at Vieh Heli, and the lake is just a few minutes' walk away. The trail leads through Hallstatt to Obertraun, is suitable for all ages and is stroller-friendly. All other hiking destinations are just minutes away by car:
